Stuttgart Electronic Study Bible (SESB) Edition

SESB Edition is a highly-focused, 10-volume collection for those working in the biblical languages. The product includes exclusive material such as the critical editions of the Greek and Hebrew scriptures from the German Bible Society, recognized world-wide as exemplars of modern scholarship.

This special edition of SESB offers specialized dialogs and reports for searching lexemes and grammatical forms in Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia, Septuaginta and the Greek New Testament.

"The German Bible Society is very excited about our partnership with Libronix Corporation. With their expertise, the SESB CD-ROM will be a truly unique electronic resource for the Bible scholar, allowing research possibilities that have never before existed in a personal digital library."

Who Can Benefit from This Product?

The short answer is: anyone involved in the task of interpreting scripture. Before an exegete can translate or interpret a passage, the exact wording of the passage must be determined. The process of attempting to select the original text from a diverse number of variant readings is called "textual criticism." The critical apparatuses to the Bibles in SESB provide the tools for doing this important task.

The custom search tools for the SESB edition of the BHS and the Lemma Search tool (which will work with all lemmatized bibles; see screenshots below) also increase the functionality of Libronix for working with Greek and Hebrew.

We have made available an overview of critical apparatuses: what they're good for and how they're used.
